I believe that

“Human beings are the most complicated creatures of all.”

When things could simply be understood,
we twist and turn them,
overthink them,
and fuss over them this way and that.

And as a result,
one part gets bent out of shape,
then another,
and another,
until everything is so twisted and tangled
that it no longer resembles its original form.

Like a circle, a triangle, or a square,
I believe that the human being, at their core,
is something very simple
and very beautiful.

And yet,
perhaps I do want to be a little complicated,
in a way that feels human.

Just enough
to still be kind to myself.
